Issue/Introduction

What is the criteria for tasks being displayed in the JVMLIST command?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : SYSVIEW

Cause

The only scenario that we know of where SYSVIEW does not discover a JVM is a timing issue and it occurs when the JVMDATA subtask and CICS regions are being brought up around the same time.

Resolution

Please run a JAVA FULLSCAN

Enter the following command from SYSVIEW. .

MODIFY SYSVIEW,MODIFY JVMDATA,FULLSCAN

Assuming that there were several JVMs that did not show up in the JVMLIST running a FULLSCAN should correct the problem.

There is no setting to run the FULLSCAN as the dynamic discovery process is expected to find all of the JVMs on the system.
The FULLSCAN can only be run on demand.

Additional Information

The CICS regions in question were not using / running JAVA yet.
