Issue/Introduction

We have been requested to install a Nimsoft robot on a Ubuntu 20.04LTS server.  I've seen some articles but I believe we need more specific installation steps and uninstallation process (has 7.80 installed) plus the robot packages which I believe should be 9.33 version.

- robot installation using dpkg -i nimsoft-robot+<OS>_<arch>.xxx gets cut short in a few seconds and never finishes. No robot processes (controller, hdb and spooler) running.

Environment

Release : 9.2.0

Component : UIM - ROBOT_RPM

Ubuntu 20.04

Cause

- environmental/security issues

Resolution

The install is being executed as root.

/opt/nimsoft ends up being owned by a particular user and not root-> xxxxxx despite running the install as root.

Apparently, some Symantec software or agent (cafagent) is interfering with the installation process.

Here are some links we checked.

Customer will open an internal case with the Security/Anti-Virus team to investigate since Linux installs have this same software in place in the builds but they don't experience the same installation problem. It is only happening on 2 Ubuntu 20.04 systems.
