CAUNIVMS and SNS$WATCHDOG accounts

Issue/Introduction

For a few non human accounts created on OpenVMS servers for CA Scheduler tool and SNS watchdog do the "CAUNIVMS" and "SNS$WATCHDOG" accounts have to be retained or can they be deleted?

Resolution

Since actively using CA System Watchdog the SNS$WATCHDOG account must be enabled.

The CAUNIVMS account is needed only if managing the environment from a Wintel system that is a CA NSM Management Station.  If not using a CA NSM Management station then the CAUNIVMS account can be disabled.

The CAUNIVMS account can be deleted, however, it is recommend that the numeric UIC be recorded. Scan the system disk for files owned by the CAUNIVMS account, and note the name and location.

So in the future, should someone notice those files do not have an owner and want to know why, the question can be answered.
