Idea Create Error: INV-0016 - Missing Planned Cost Start or Finish Dates

Issue/Introduction

When you have the planned capital costs and planned operating cost fields on the Clarity Classic Idea create screen but do not have the Planned Cost Start/Finish date fields, you get error: Error: INV-0016: Missing Planned Cost Start or Planned Cost Finish Dates if Planned Capital Cost or Planned Operating Cost have values. 

Additional setup notes below:

  • Default the values for planned cost start/finish to be Today’s date.
  • Include the Set Planned Cost dates field on the Idea create screen and default to = True.  
  • Idea Start and Finish date fields are on the create page and have dates populated

Is there any other work around or is this functioning as expected?

Cause

This is working as expected. 

Resolution

Option 1: Add the Planned Cost Date fields to the create page

Note: In this scenario, you can make the fields hidden but then the fields will not be visible in edit views for users as well

To do this: 

  1. Go to Administration->Objects->Studio->Ideas->Views
  2. Click on the 'Fields' link next to Idea Properties
  3. Click on the Properties icon for the Planned Cost Start field
  4. Check the Hidden check box and save changes
  5. Repeat the above steps for Planned Cost Finish as well. 

Option 2: Remove the planned capital costs and planned operating fields from the Create page
