Sample response file for .NET silent installation missing from agent download

Issue/Introduction

Refers to a sample response file used for installing the .NET agent in silent mode. The file, SampleResponseFile_DotnetAgent<bitmode>.iss (where bitmode would be 32 or 64) is not in the zip file downloaded from APM Team Center or ACC. Also downloaded the APM 10.7.SP3 and 10.7.0 versions of the .NET agent and they also do not include the sample response file.

Cause

Per Engineering, the.NET Agent silent installation on Windows system with the .msi installer is still working ok.  We just need to clarify the discrepancy between the current DX SaaS docs and the actual silent installation instructions for the newer .NET Agent versions.

The following doc defect has been submitted to the .NET Agent dev team for further review and prioritization:

 

DE506009: DOC - The instrumentations for installing .NET Agent in silent mode refers to SampleResponseFile_DotnetAgent.iss that is not included in the .NET Agent bundle or download package 

Resolution

 

 

As a workaround, please continue using the command line options for .NET Agent silent installation on Windows as Documented for APM 10.7 -  Install .NET Agent Silently.
