Issue/Introduction

Can a user signon with the PHRASEONLY attribute set on their acid even though the Top Secret Control Option PSWDPHRASE(OFF) is set?

Component : CA Top Secret for z/OS

Resolution

To enable password phrase support in Top Secret:

1. Top Secret Control Option PSWDPHRASE(ON) must be set

2. OR the PSWDPHR attribute must be added to the acid.

The PHRASEONLY attribute or Top Secret Control Option PHRASEONLY only allows a user to signon with password phrase and not an 8 character password. 

PHRASEONLY also requires password phrase support to be active via one of the options mentioned above.
