We updated the ifAlias value and NetOps does not reflect the change

Issue/Introduction

When we change the ifAlias on an Interface and then do a rediscovery on the node, it does not update the Alias entry in NetOps.

Environment

All supported releases

Resolution

The entry for Alias automatically updated after waiting some time due to change detection picking up on the altered item.  You can preemptively trigger this by performing the following process:

 

1. Administration > Monitored Items Management > Monitored Devices

2. Lookiup the device in question

3. Polled Metric Families tab

4. Click Update Metric Families button (middle or top right depending on version)
