cannot reset password for sa account within Microsoft SQL.

Broadcom customers typically insist that Broadcom NOT have knowledge of the password of the sa account.

If the password for the sa account of MS SQL containing the SEP database is lost, please contact Microsoft or re-install the MS SQL database, then restore the SEP database from backup.
