ESP Workload Automation

Issue/Introduction

PURGSCHF command is issued manually and from an event (VS 'F ESPP,PURGSCHF NOW LESS 1 HOUR') but completed jobs from last week remain.

Sample CSF display:

     TESTJOBA COMPLETED(F) AT 07.56   26 JAN

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : CA ESP WORKLOAD AUTOMATION

Cause

Application is on HOLD.  PURGSCHF deletes only jobs in completed applications.

Forced complete jobs (status COMPLETED(F)) from a held application will not be removed when PURGSCHF is executed, and when ESP is recycled.

If an application is in HOLD status, and a new generation goes into APPLWAIT status, when the previous generation is forced complete,  PURGSCHF will not delete either generation.

Resolution

From the CSF:

1.  Issue line command LA  to see whether the application is on HOLD:     --- APPL IS IN HOLD STATUS

2. If on HOLD, issue line command AA to release the application from hold status.

The next PURGSCHF run will remove the completed application.

3. You can also enter the TERMINATE option on the AJ command

AJ ALL APPL(applname.gen) TERMINATE

TERMINATE
Completes an application immediately. ESP removes any APPLHOLD and APPLWAIT conditions that are on the application, completes all the workload objects in the application and completes the application.
