Issue/Introduction

With CA 2E, want to use a timestamp field precision 12. Is this possible in CA 2E and how can this be automatically set to the *SYS time?

Environment

CA 2E 8.7.x

Resolution

Currently, CA 2E does not support the way of retrieving the timestamp in the new way which was introduced in the latest releases of IBMi

CA 2E was designed long ago before this new feature from IBMi was introduced and there is no current plans to adopt the new IBMi feature.

CA 2E still leverages the traditional Timestamp method.

If customers want to use that new timestamp feature of IBMi, they will need to write an external user-defined handwritten RPG program and attach that program to CA 2E as EXCUSRPGM or EXCUSRSRC.
