For various reasons, including running parallel instances during a phased migration, you may need to connect more than one AutoSys Scheduler instance to the same set of Agents.
Can the Agent be configured to work with more than one AutoSys Scheduler instance with the same instance name?
While the System Agent can speak to multiple AutoSys Scheduler instances, these do need to have unique 3-character instance names.
The Agent dynamically updates its Manager entries in the <agent_install_dir>/agentparm.txt files. Having unique instance names helps the Agent distinguish between managers and maintain separate entries in its agentparm.txt file. If you have 2 instances of AutoSys with the same instance name, the Agent will assume it is the same instance and dynamically update the same entry in its agentparm.txt with the manager host/port details. This will lead to jobs statuses being sent to the wrong real AutoSys instance.
Please use a different, unique AutoSys instance names for each instance that you intend to configure with the same Agent(s).
