Issue/Introduction

The GEL script of an existing process has been updated in Clarity. The process definition has been saved and re-validated. However, the new process instances initiated are still executing the old GEL script instead of the new one we added. Is this expected?.

Environment

Any Clarity release

Cause

The old GEL script remains in the Clarity cache.

Resolution

In a production environment, after having tested your GEL script code in a lower sandbox environment, it is a best practice to:

  • Place existing process "On Hold"
  • Create a new version of the process using "Save As".  Give it a name such as "Process Name version 3".
  • Leave the original process On Hold.  Validate and Activate the new process.

If you have modified the GEL script of an existing process, please ensure the Clarity cache has been flushed after the changes have been done
