Process with updated GEL doesn't update all instances

Issue/Introduction

You needed to update a GEL script, there were running instances of the process. You updated the script in the UI.  Clicked “Save and Return”.  Clicked the “Validate All and Activate” button on the validation tab.

The updated GEL script was not picked up by the old instances, or even new instances of the process

Resolution

If in a production environment, after having tested your GEL script code in a lower sandbox environment, it is a best practice to:

1- Place existing process "On Hold"

2- Create a new version of the process using "Save As".  Give it a name such as "Process Name version 3".

3- Leave the original process On Hold.  Validate and Activate the new process.
