Clarity PPM: -> displays as '>'

Issue/Introduction

Characters > and < get converted to '&gt;' or '&lt;' if used in combination with one hyphen (-), or if used in same field after ->. The issue happens in any string field.  This issue happens in both Classic and Modern User Experience. If you only have a -> at the beginning of a field, the issue does not happen. Example: If a field name is ->Test, it does not get converted to -&gt;Test. 

Steps to Reproduce: 

1. In Classic Clarity, click on an existing project, and change the name to -> Test -> Test > Test -< Test < 
2. Click Save 

Expected Results: Field still displays as -> Test -> Test > Test -< Test <

Actual Results: Field changes to -&gt; Test -&gt; Test &gt; Test -&lt; Test &lt;

Release : 15.8.1, 15.9, 15.9.1 15.9.2, 15.9.3

DE61237  

Workaround: Use another character type such as {}. 

Resolution

Fixed in Release 16.0.0

• Important: The use of --> in a name field will still generate the --%gt; even with the above fix as per expected design. See '--> ' changes to ' --&gt; ' inside a text field for more details.
