You want to confirm that Messaging Gateway (SMG) protects against a recently announced malware campaign or threat.

Resolution

Messaging Gateway protects against spam and malware content in email messages and uses the same malware detection engine as other Symantec security products. This means that email bourne malware intended to exploit emerging vulnerabilities in third party products will likely be protected against by Messaging Gateway. In general, however, Messaging Gateway support cannot make authoritative statements regarding specific third party vulnerabilities or threats.
