Bootwiz crashes when creating USB boot disk

Issue/Introduction

When creating a USB Boot disk with Bootwiz the operation fails near the end of the process.

This has been reported for both Standard Tools as well as Ghost Solution Suite, with version 3.3 RU7.  Many different USB drives have been tested with the same behavior. Once bootwiz gets to the last step it hangs for a moment then closes without displaying any errors.

Environment

GSS 3.3 RU7

Cause

Due to a bug, USB creation is not successful.

Error might be seen: Issue with USB creation: Symantec Boot disk creator error: CFileSystem exception encountered

 

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 RU8 and later

 

Workaround using RU7:

Use Bootwiz to create a ISO boot disk instead of USB, and then use Rufus (rufus.ie) to write the ISO to a USB disk.  This will create a Bootable USB Disk.
