When printing from Microsoft Edge Chromium there is a delay of up to 30 seconds.
Printing from Google Chrome does not have the same delay.

Workstation: Windows 10 (20h2)

  1. In Global Application Monitoring, create a new entry for msedge.exe.
  2. Deselect the print channel.

This can open a vector for data loss.
In this case, the company accepted this risk as the users print items from the internet that do not contain any sensitive data.

Update: 15.7 MP2 HF7 added additional support for print monitoring with Google Chrome and the Chromium Edge.

There are some limitations for Chromium print monitoring:

  • Websites supporting inline editing of linked documents OR web page content are not monitored. Common examples includes <google docs> etc.
  • Printing using custom print options that may be supported by individual websites/web apps are not monitored. This typically includes a print option embedded in the web page, a print option available in custom menus in the web apps.
  • Printing from websites or web apps that do customized rendering of the file content, such as attachments opened inside Gmail and OWA, are not monitored
  • Printing of files or pages from simulation of other browsers in Chrome or Edge chromium(e.g. IE mode in Edge chromium-browser) is not supported
