Issue/Introduction

VMware does not appear to be capturing all the steps of the download for Open Workbench (OWB)

The OWB file that is downloaded when you attempt to open a project from Clarity is downloading a file called “sched”, but it's not appending the ".nikusl” extension to it, even though the schedlink is correctly associated to .nikusl (see Corrupt OWB File: Error Unable to open project)

Environment

Release : All

Component : CLARITY OPEN WORKBENCH (OWB)

VMware/Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI)

Cause

Registry entry is missing that tells the browser that MIME type “nikuscheduler” is associated with an extension of “.nikusl”:

Resolution

Add the following Registry entry:

  • \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/nikuscheduler
  • Extension = .nikusl

Steps to create if it's not there already:

  1. Navigate to \HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type
  2. Right click Content Type and select New Key
  3. Give the key / folder name: application/nikuscheduler
  4. Add a new string under this folder namedExtension
  5. Right click the new string and enter value data of.nikusl
