Issue/Introduction

What version of java is required for DX Netops Virtual Network Assurance?

Does the specific version of Java 8 matter?

Environment

Release : 20.2

Component : Virtual Network Assurance For CA Spectrum

Resolution

Per the installation documentation:

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/virtual-network-assurance/20-2/installing.html state:

"3. Install Oracle or any OpenJDK 64-bit Java 8 as the default JDK.

Note

VNA supports only JDKs. It does not run on IBM SDK Java and on any JRE.

Important

Select the default JDK version of Java to use using the alternatives tools.
For more information, see the Red Hat documentation.
Alternatively, create a link in /usr/bin/java to the Java 8 JDK Java executable."

So from a VNA standpoint, we only require that it is an Oracle or any OpenJDK 64-bit Java 8 JDK, (as noted VNA supports only JDKs. It does not run on IBM SDK Java and on any JRE.)
