Issue/Introduction

In the process of upgrading I am moving the OPSLOG archiving to the new proc based process.

I have created  new proc OPSARLOG with associated started task id OPSARLOG.  When running the archive log proc the following error messages are display and the job fails:

OPS3851E GLOBAL VARIABLES REQUEST NOT AUTHORIZED - insufficient authority
+OPS1048I ERROR 48 RUNNING ARCHNTRK, LINE 51: FAILURE IN SYSTEM SERVICE

I have checked with our security administrator (RACF) and they are not seeing any security violations.

Environment

Release : 14.0

Component : OPS/MVS

Cause

Missing a setup step in the Installation causes this failure.

Resolution

Review and complete the following step from the Set Up Procedures for the OPSLOG Archive Facility:

3. Copy the supplied  CA OPS/MVS Security rule located in hlq.CCLXRULB(ARCHSECA) into a valid  CA OPS/MVS ruleset and Enable and Auto-Enable this rule.  If using a Security ruleset, copy this sample rule into that ruleset.  If using External Security, the resource rules for the following Security events will need to be updated to allow either the ARCHIVEPROC value or the userid assigned to the ARCHIVEPROC STC:   OPSPARM, OPSLOG, OPSGLOBALGLOBAL0.
