Endevor QuickEdit getting an ENDE100E error

ENDE100E  Data set allocation failed. Enter HELP for more information

When using personal DSNs that are non-SMS and editing a member in QE,  getting message ENDE100E on workfile (dsname does not show on PF1).  The IGD message on console has  userid.JCLTEST.S2.QTDS2.JCL.

Current work around is to go in QE; D - dialog defaults and enter a volser for work dataset.

Q1. Is there a parameter/skeleton to change the HLQ of the workfiles in the error message?

Q2. If no, then what other options are available? .
