Issue/Introduction

When trying to start DLP services we see Unable to start JVM: Permission denied (13) in the logs.

Environment

Release : 15.8

Component : Enforce, Detection, OpenJRE

Cause

The OpenJRE folders have the incorrect permissions

Resolution

Verify permissions on the java installation. 

#namei -l /path/to/bin/java

The permissions on java should be rwxr-xr-x on the Java installation. The above screenshot shows the correct permissions. If a folder or file is set incorrectly run:

#chmod 755 <filename>
