Issue/Introduction

How do I know when a DX Netops Virtual Network Assurance gateway has completed removing SDN items from the Data Aggregator (DA) after deletion?

We need to re-add the gateway but need to wait until the Data Aggregator cleans up its items before re-adding.

What log messages in DX Netops Performance Management can we look for to verify the Data Aggregator cleanup is complete?

Environment

DX Netops Performance Management 20.2.9 and later

Resolution

****Note that deleting a VNA gateway will remove all the VNA items (the SNMP items would remain) AND the corresponding data from DX Netops Performance Management****
****Note that when the items come back they would have new IDs so this would also impact any views, etc pinned to those items****

1) Delete the gateway as noted in the Delete a VNA Gateway section of the Manage Connections to Virtual Network Assurance documentation topic.

2) Wait for the DA to complete the removal of the SDN items.

On the DA, in the /opt/IMDataAggregator/apache-karaf/data/log/karaf.log (Default Path) you will see log messages such as:

INFO  | tp840658619-1168 | YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS,### | SDNGatewayChangeListener | mpl.sdn.SDNGatewayChangeListener   80 | ager.core.collector.impl |       | SDN Gateway ######## has been deleted - cleaning up its associated Inventory
INFO  | tp840658619-1168 | YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS,### | SDNGatewayChangeListener | mpl.sdn.SDNGatewayChangeListener   99 | ager.core.collector.impl |       | Finished cleaning up inventory associated with SDN Gateway #######

Where ####### would be the id of your gateway.

Also once complete the following URL would have no items if you only had one VNA gateway:
