Data Aggregator (DA) shown as UNKNOWN STATUS in NetOps Portal context page

Issue/Introduction

In NetOps Portal the Data Aggregator status is shown as unknown status.  However all is working OK and the Data Aggregator status in the device context page state everything is green.

Environment

Release : 20.2, 21.2

Component : PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT INTEGRATIONS

Cause

No reachability metrics are collected for the Data Aggregator

Resolution

Currently working as designed and this does not impact the product functionality. 

The UNKNOWN STATUS is the reachability status noted here:

When you mouse over the Unknown Status it tells you its Reachability status.



Additional Information

WORKAROUND:

To get something other than Unknown Status, discover the Data Aggregator (DA) in the Default Domain using ICMP (no need for SNMP agent, just need ICMP support on DA device). 

This way we should see UP when we are collecting ICMP from the DA item.  

You will need a Data Collector in the Default Domain to discover the DA using ICMP.
