Endevor package ship ( PGM NDVRC1 / PARM C1BMX000 ) fails with rc=12 only message is C1BMX09E

Issue/Introduction

The first job of package ship failed with cc=12. At the bottom of the listing we do not see any indication what went wrong. I can see in the Endevor Shipment Log that the staging of the members failed. I only see the error message C1BMX09E that indicates that Package Ship failed in the staging process.

The bottom of the listing looks like it was cut short. I didn't see any error messages.

Release :  18.0 and 18.1

Component : CA Endevor Software Change Manager

Cause

In this case the error was a member was not found in the dataset that it was expected to be. 

Do a find on "RC=12" .  This will show you the error messages. 

For example:

DB200X01    OUTPUT  (ABCDEF05201441R )                                           RC=12  MEMBER NOT FOUND 

 

In this case a Alias was not in the loadlib that Ship expected it to be in. 

Note: The message " RC=12  MEMBER NOT FOUND " starts in column 95.

Resolution

Resolve the error indicated. If the member is missing restore the member if possible or re-execute the package(to re-create the member) and run package ship again.

In this case it indicates that the Staging process failed.
