UNIX job fails with FAULT_OTHER | U02001007 User is unknown

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to run a UNIX job either on a new agent or after updating the password, the job fails with a FAULT_OTHER - Start impossible status.  Clicking on the details of the job in the Process Monitoring perspective in the AWI shows something like:
Last message  U02001007 User 'username' is unknown or an invalid password has been provided.

Release : 12.3

Component : AUTOMATION ENGINE

Cause

In this case an invalid or corrupt password 

Resolution

From the Attributes tab of the job, open the login object assigned to the job

Remove the password that is on the line for the agent that should be running the job

Re-enter the password for the job and save the login object

Run the job

Additional Information

There are some other reasons for a U02001007 error code.  A search for this "U-code" should bring back some other results as well.
