Issue/Introduction

After configuring SSL in Service Desk, Service Catalog, and XFlow/Service Point, Chrome Console started showing certificate error messages when accessing Service Point.

ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

Environment

CA Service Management 17.2 and higher

Cause

It happens when the browser is unable to access Service Catalog (from Service Point when they are integrated) because of an invalid certificate.

Browsers are getting safer and this kind of message because of weak certificates is becoming typical.

Resolution

To workaround this for a while, consider using a browse which lesser security requirements, but it is not a recommended approach.

The best option is to create a real certificate from a certificate authority.
