Email Not Received From NetOps Portal

Issue/Introduction

Correctly configured email setup in NetOps Portal.  Tried to email dashboard but it never reached the inbox.
From the log DMService.log (NetOps Portal) we can see the following: 

 | Sending e-mail 'Infrastructure Overview' to '[email protected]' at 'Fri May 07 12:05:26 CEST 2021'
ERROR | EmailJobTaskThreadPool-Thread-4 | 2021-05-07 12:05:36,160 | com.ca.im.portal.dm.scheduling.email.EmailJobTask                
      | Error sending e-mail: Failed messages: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
  nested exception is:
 com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

org.springframework.mail.MailSendException: Failed messages: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
  nested exception is:
 com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPAddressFailedException: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

Resolution

This can occur when attempting to e-mail the report to a recipient outside the mail server's domain.  Try a mail recipient that is in the same domain as the mail server.  You can also try sending e-mail from the command line using sendmail:

sendmail [email protected]
From: [email protected]
To: [email protected]
Hi, this is my message, and I'm sending it to you!
.

sendmail will read you e-mail from standard input.  It will attempt to send the e-mail when you enter a single dot "." on a new line and press enter.
