Issue/Introduction

On April 3rd, 2017, End of Life was announced for Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1. Recently, Symantec Endpoint Protection(SEP) reached its final End of Life milestone, End of Extended Support Life, on April 3rd, 2021.  After this date, content (definitions) may no longer be available.

Cause

Content is no longer available for SEP 12.1.x.

Resolution

To continue receiving content updates, please upgrade to the latest version of Endpoint Security (cloud hosted) or Endpoint Protection (on-prem).

Additional Information

Below are dates when the last SEP 12.1.x definitions were available for download:

• File-Based (AV) - May 20th, 2021 r008
• Network-Based (IPS) - May 19th, 2021 r061
• Behavior-Based (SONAR) - May 11th, 2021 r011

Q: Can a 14.x Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) download and provide content to 12.1.x clients past the dates mentioned above?
