Issue/Introduction

Can I run a History Report to determine the Encryption method used on previous transfers using XCOMHIST?

Can I view the cipher of an active transfer?

Resolution

1. The XCOM HSTDSECT has a field called HSTCIPHN (offset x'0CD5' [3285 decimal]) for the value of the cipher you can use to gather that information. You can also the sample Easytrieve reports to gather that info. With the Easytrieve you have to use the decimal  offset.

2. You can see the cipher used for the transfer in the ISPF panel. When running a secured transfer you can review the details of the transfer and you will see:

   Cipher Suite Used: TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA
