Issue/Introduction

Multiple link disabled alarms are observed to be generated with Event code 0x10d12.

1. How spectrum identifies the interface admin DOWN status? is it through polling in regular intervals. What action is taken when interface admin/oper status is down and disabled.

2. Will such admin down interfaces be deleted automatically after certain duration?

3. 0x10d12 is configured to generate alarm with maintenance severity for admin down links. If this alarm is cleared manually and interface admin status is still down, Is a new alarm generated again?

Environment

Release : 10.4.1

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Resolution

1. How spectrum identifies the interface admin DOWN status? is it through polling in regular intervals. What action is taken when interface admin/oper status is down and disabled.

this is polled via the mibs. If the ifAdminStatus is up, and the ifOperStatus is down, the port will be considered to down.  Both down is disabled.

2. Will such admin down interfaces be deleted automatically after certain duration?

no

 3. 0x10d12 is configured to generate alarm with maintenance severity for admin down links. If this alarm is cleared manually and interface admin status is still down, Is a new alarm generated again?

Maintenance alarms are hidden by default so should not be seen nor is there a need to do anything with them. I assume you changed the default behavior to show maintenance alarms?  We do not have any info on this as it is a non default behavior - normally customers are not concerned about maintenance alarms so leave them as hidden.
