Issue/Introduction

High CPU usage in CA PAM can sometimes be related to internal process sshd.mitm

Environment

Release : 3.4, 3.4.1

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

When the Session Recording Mount has too many files, this caused sshd.mitm to not exit cleanly and becomes a zombie process consuming CPU.

Resolution

Solution is to clear up Session Recording Mount so you do not keep too many files.

For a workaround, PAM_3.4.1.09 will install a cronjob to run at midnight GMT/UTC time to kill the orphaned sshd.mitm consuming CPU.
