Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to GSS 3.3 RU7, Linux Ghost shows garbled text everywhere when running in GUI.

Steps to duplicate:

Run ./ghost in any linux with GUI (i.e. Ubuntu)
Or in LinPE with installed XIntin and StartX (apt install xinit startx)

all fonts are corrupted

Environment

GSS 3.3 RU7

Reproducible with 64 bit ghost
NOT reproducible with 32bit Ghost running in 32bit OS

Resolution

This issue has been reported to Broadcom Development team. A fix for this has been added to GSS 3.3 RU8 release.

Pointfix for those with GSS 3.3 RU7 attached to this article.

Just replace Linux ghost binaries. It is not required to update it in LinPE.
Place the files under the following two locations:
for GSS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Ghost
for GST: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Ghost
