AutoSys Job Status Moves to INACTIVE After RESTART Event

Issue/Introduction

After an "Application FAILURE" occurs, you attempt to restart an AutoSys job configured with the n_retrys attribute. The job moves to an INACTIVE status instead of restarting.

Environment

AutoSys Workload Automation 12.1 and higher

Resolution

This behavior is expected when a RESTART event is processed. The AutoSys Scheduler performs the following validation before initiating the restart:

1. Condition Validation: The Scheduler re-evaluates the job's starting conditions (as defined in the condition: attribute).
2. Outcome: If the conditions defined in the condition: attribute are no longer met at the time of the restart request, the restart is canceled.
3. Result: The job transitions to an INACTIVE status. It will remain in this state and run only once the specified conditions become true again.

Note: The Scheduler does not re-evaluate date conditions during this process.
