When enabling extended GDGs CA 11 is not performing cleanup. In the z/OS 2.2 release the limit was extended to 999 from 255. Fix RO98227 is needed for CA 11 to properly support extended GDGs.
Release : 11.0
Component : CA-11
PTF RO98227 was developed because the GDG limit can be up to 999 instead of 255 if the GDG is defined with EXTENDED. Prior to this fix, the CA 11 program making the catalog call was not capable of handling extended GDGs, where the limit is extended to 999 from 255 prior in release z/OS 2.2. RO98227 allows CA 11 to obtain the new value to request the GDGLIMTE field instead of the GDGLIMIT Without the fix the U11RMS step will not clean up the extended GDGs. If you are taking advantage of the new limit, RO98227 will need to be applied.
