Issue/Introduction

Receiving the following messages when trying to vary a range of devices NOTAVAIL on one of our systems:

@VARY (2860-287B) NOTAVAIL             
MIM0067I Command VARY 346              
MIM0123E Unrecognized command VARY

Environment

Release : 12.5

Component : MIA

Cause

The VARY command is only valid where MIA GTAF and TPCF are active.

Resolution

• If MIA GTAF and TCPF are active, use command against appropriate address space by either using correct command character or use MODIFY command
  • Issue command "@D FACILITIES" to determine what facilities that are active on the local system and what service level you are running on each facility
  • Issue command "F MIM,D FAC" and all MIM address spaces would have responded, if there was more than one.
