Issue/Introduction

A CA Performance Center threshold event was generated and cleared in CAPC but the clear event was only seen in Spectrum.

Cause

The customer had a redundant CA Performance Center system with the same data source. OneClick was switching between the CA Performance Center server. The following messages were seen in the Spectrum tomcat catalina.out file:

May 05, 2021 14:14:27.061 (PoolThread-6827: GlobalPool => NPCEventManagerWebserviceURLPoller) (NetqosEventLog) - (DEBUG) - Evaluating Event Manager web service location
May 05, 2021 14:14:27.391 (PoolThread-6827: GlobalPool => NPCEventManagerWebserviceURLPoller) (NetqosEventLog) - (DEBUG) - Changing Event Manager URL from http://system1:8281/EventManager/EventManagerWS.asmx to http://system2:8281/EventManager/EventManagerWS.asmx

Environment

Release : 20.2

Component : DX NetOps Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Resolution

There were two CAPC systems that had the same OneClick Data Source. OneClick was switching back and forth between the systems causing events to be missed. This is not a supported configuration. The customer disabled the second CAPC system and that resolved the problem.
