CP QUERY CPSERVICE to verify VM:Secure CP local modification

Issue/Introduction

Site installed VM:Secure on new 2nd level z/VM 7.2.   Had some concerns with PUT2PROD and how to verify install.

z/VM 7.2

Resolution

PUT2PROD that would be run on the MAINT720 User ID is only relevant for the installation of the VM:Secure LOCALMODs (“The Rules Facility”) into CP and the CPLOAD MODULE. 

If you have completed that part of the z/VM 7.2 installation and IPLed, you can use the CP QUERY CPSERVICE command to verify that you see the VM:Secure CP local modification is present:

Additionally, from VMANAGER with the VMSECURE ADMIN disk (usually the 176 minidisk) you can run the VMXCPNUC Utility:

There really isn’t anything in VMFVIEW that would confirm these items have been installed and are active on the IPL’d system.
