Unable to access the shared drive files using CA TDM

We are upgrading CA TDM from 4.8 to 4.9.1.

In 4.8 when we run the self service tile we are able to access the Files present in the shared drive but in 4.9.1 when we ran the self service tile it is unable to access the Files present in the shared drive it is giving error as Error executing FileActivity: Access to the path '\\sharedrivepath\Config\creden.txt' is denied. but however when I run through the javelin it is able access the files in the shared drive.

The shared drive all the required permissions but still throwing the error.

.net security does not allow a Local System Account user to access anything other than the local drives.  It was noted that he used a Domain User login on the 4.8.1 Portal Service and the Local System account for the 4.9 installation.


Needed to provided a Domain User Login for the Portal Service.  Local System user login does NOT have access permissions to access ANYTHING other than the local drives. 

  1. Go to Services.
  2. Right Click on the Portal Service.
  3. Click on Logon
  4. Click the This account:
  5. Enter in the Domain user.
  6. Restart the portal.
