NFA Device shows incorrect Retired state and no flow data as a result in DX NetOps Performance Management

DX NetOps

There are two Network Flow Analysis (NFA) Data Sources (DS's) configured in DX NetOps Performance Management.

One NFA is the older system and the other is the new system. We are balancing the two by moving devices from old to new, deleting the device on the old system before adding it new to the new system.

We end up seeing two Devices in the Data Aggregator (DA) Monitored Devices Inventory. One is the older one that gets Retired, the other is a newer one that is Active.

But the Life Cycle State isn't correct in the Performance Center Portal Inventory. It shows as Retired.

The duplicate devices were created a long time ago and never cleaned up, showing up now due to the migration activity.

To resolve this take the following steps:

  1. Set the Devices Life Cycle State from Retired to Active in the NetOps Portal.
  2. Delete the older Device.
  3. Migrate the devices from old to new NFA.
