Resolution

Criteria in DSCL (Data Storage Command Language) are used to select or exclude data sets to pass to the action command.  The action command has further checks that may decide the data set can’t be processed.
Using VOLSEQNO will eliminate those multi-volume segments that can’t be processed at a much higher level using less CPU. Since commands like Backup and Report are mixed, DISK issue messages from Backup so that customers can see why the data set was bypassed but reported on in the Report.

The SYSOUTEX should be used to suppress the messages.
