Patch Deployment Failing on agent machine .Windows Event log shows ‘Windows update could not be installed because of 2149842967 ‘

Resolution

2149842967 is 0x80240017 in hexadecimal. According to Windows Update Agent Result Codes, it indicates that this hotfix is not applicable to your server. 
 Can you please run Windows Update to check if Windows Update is functioning properly? If not, let’s check the windowsupdate.log for further research.

Try installing any other standalone update and see if that works.

Also, make sure Windows Update service is running and run updates from elevated cmd (run as administrator)
