RC/Update: RMA005E COULD NOT OPEN DDLFILE FILE

Issue/Introduction

An ALTER is done on a table in RCU, due to the change,  an Analysis is required. An online analysis returns the following error:

     RMA005E COULD NOT OPEN DDLFILE

What is the cause of this message?

 

Environment

Release : 20.0

Component : CA RC/Update for DB2 for z/OS

Resolution

 After the change is made to the TABLE in RC/Update, PF3 and the following analysis screen appears:

 The message occurs because the Dataset specified under 'Output Dataset Specification's is not a PDS, it must be a PDS.

Change this under the RC/Migrator Profile options:

  - Option 2 from the Main Menu RC/Migrator, option 0 Profile.

  - Option 2 RC/Migrator Profile Variables.

  Put a 'Y' next to 'Update Output Specifications', see the screen below.

Make sure these are PDS datasets:

 

Note: These settings would relate to RC/Migrator Strategy analysis also.
