Error in sql_response probe related to ssl security

Issue/Introduction

Observe below error while establishing connection in sql_response probe to target database 

Without Use TLS option selected in probe 

With Use TLS option selected in probe 

 

 

Environment

Release :UIM  9.x/20.x /20.3.x

Component : UIM - SQL_RESPONSE 1.8

 

Resolution

1.sql_response 1.8 has added support for TLS v1.2.
The Use TLS option is available only when you select SQL Server Native Client (11.0), Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (11), or Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server (18.2.1.0) as the Provider.

2. Ensure correct client is installed 

 

Example 

For both local and remote monitoring, Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client must be installed on the system where probe is deployed. For more information, see Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 Native Client - QFE.

Ensure that the system where database server is installed is updated with required patches according to SQL Server version (2008r2, 2012, 2014). For more information, see TLS 1.2 support for Microsoft SQL Server.
