How can I tell how many Audit Records have been written?
CA 1 Tape Management
Determining the number of Audit records written
You can run a TMSBINQ HEADERS or view the Control Records through ISPF and look for the 1ST AUDIT Record and the NEXT AUDIT Record and subtract the two numbers to see how many Audit records have been written at that time if the NEXT AUDIT Record is larger than the 1ST AUDIT Record.
Remember the Audit file is a wrap around file so you will have to adjust the calculations if the NEXT AUDIT Record is smaller than the 1ST AUDIT Record. If this is the case you will subtract the 1ST AUDIT Record from the NUM AUDIT and then add the NEXT AUDIT Record value.
Also any TMSCOPY BACKUP will tell you how many audit records were written between each back up .
