Issue/Introduction

We see the following messages during Sysview startup:

(CICSDATA) GSVXZDMR ZDATA-CONNECT CCS Data Mover unavailable
(MVSDATA) GSVXZDMR ZDATA-CONNECT CCS Data Mover unavailable
(MQSDATA) GSVXZDMR ZDATA-CONNECT CCS Data Mover unavailable

What is CCS Data Mover and what is it used for?

Environment

Release : 16.0

Component : SYSVIEW

Resolution

The zDataMover is a Common Services (CCS) component that uses the CCS Message Service for the movement of data from z/OS producers to off z/OS-platform data consumers.  More information on this CCS component can be found in the CCS Data Mover section of the Common Services documentation set.

To disable these messages, when zDataMover is not used, the parameter may be changed from Enable (the default) to Disable in the member ZVWXZDM member of the **.CNM4BPRM dataset.   If SYSVIEW is up and running at the time of change, it may be dynamically changed using the ZDMSET and ZDMSTATS commands as documented in the SYSVIEW documentation section titled ZVWXZDM under the chapter "CNM4BPRM Parmlib Members".
