CA Harvest Software Change Manager - OpenMake Meister

Issue/Introduction

Problem:

When you are installing a new version of the CA SCM Client, the first part of the process uninstalls any previous version. The uninstall forces the user to close Microsoft Office Outlook. We want this uninstall to be transparent for the user and if it forces the closure of this application it won't be transparent..

Environment:

CA Harvest SCM all versions

Resolution:

This pop-up occurs because Software Change Manager is sharing Microsoft modules, and the pop-up is generated by the uninstaller. To prevent this popup message requesting the closure of Outlook, use the standard silent uninstall mechanism and provide the product code.

The product code of the r12.1 SP2 workbench is:

{71E33EEE-384E-4808-AEF9-E04C1541DCA2}.

The syntax for this command is:

msiexec /x <msi Product ID> /qn
