Issue/Introduction

Is there is a way to know how many LIDS, RULES and RSRC rules are defined in ACF2 ?

Environment

Component : ACF2 for z/OS

Resolution

One possible way is to review the daily backup job to get this information.

For example, each logonid defined in the ACF2 LOGONID database is a single record in the backup sequential file for the LOGONID database.

When the backup of the ACF2 databases are done the ACF79049 message is issued for each database indicating the number of records backed up.

The ACF2 databases are usually backed up on a daily basis, to determine the numberof logonid records defined for instance, in the ACF2 LOGONID database check the system console for the ACF79049 messages for the number of records backed up for each database.

Additionally, the record size for logonids is 1024 bytes.
For access rule sets and infostorage records, the minimum is 4096 bytes, and the maximum is 32K.
The minimum Control Interval size for all data and index components is 4096 bytes.

Use the total space used and divide it by the figures above.
