Issue/Introduction

 

When running a Policy Server with AdminUI, how to configure the
protection of a Web Site using Basic Authentication?

 

Environment

 

Policy Server 12.8SP5;
AdminUI 12.8SP5;

 

Resolution

 

Configure protection of a Domain, including a Realm, a Rule, a Policy
and attach to the Realm the Basic Authentication Scheme as described
in the documentation (1).

    Configure a Basic Authentication Scheme

      Configure a Basic authentication scheme in the Administrative UI to
      verify user identities against user names and passwords that exist
      in the user directory.

    How to Configure a Policy Domain

      You configure a domain to create a logical grouping of resources
      with one or more user directories.

(3)

    Configure a Realm

      Configure a Realm Protected by a SiteMinder Web Agent

       Select a SiteMinder Web Agent or Agent group, and click OK.
       Create new rules or delete existing rules.

    Create the Policy

      Add Users to a Policy
      Add Rules to a Policy
