Login Cancelled - Authorization Failure when accessing the OneClick Web Page From Edge Chromium or Chrome

Issue/Introduction

I am getting the following message when trying to connect to the OneClick Web Page while using Chrome or Edge Chromium

DX NetOps Spectrum OneClick - Authorization Failure
Login canceled

Environment

Release : 20.2

Component : Spectrum Core / SpectroSERVER

Cause

OneClick (10.4.3.1 and prior) uses 'basic authentication' for its authorization scheme. Some companies deploy web browser policy disabling
   'basic authentication' which in turn causes authentication to immediately fail when accessing the OneClick Web Page


Check to see if there is a browser policy disabling 'basic authentication'


Chrome:  

chrome://policy
AuthSchemes - check if set. As seen below 'basic' is not listed

 

 

 

Edge Chromium:
edge://policy
AuthSchemes - check if set. As seen below 'basic' is not listed

Resolution

Check to see if there is a  policy pushed to the web browser that is blocking 'basic authentication' (See Cause section above)

- basic authentication would need to be re-enabled to access OneClick from chrome or edge chromium

Corrective Action: reconfigure access policy to allow 'basic'


Work Around: use firefox which does not have the policy

Note: Upcoming release Spectrum 10.5 (NetOps 21.2.1) moves away from basic authentication
